Northwest Florida State Fair 2009

Recently, I have realized that growing up in Southern California has given me a jaded sense of reality. For some reason I figured our county fairs, malls, festivals, etc. were just like every other one in the country. Now I know, that it is definitely NOT the case. I am trying to change my attitude and be more positive about this place, but it's difficult knowing that there is a place with all things bigger and better and I am not there.
Okay, so enough venting and on to the post.
Last night we bundled ourselves up and went to the Northwest Florida State Fair.

It was very tiny, but nonetheless fun. It was actually Ravyn's first time to go to a good old American fair and maybe it was best that we started small.

There was only one exhibit to see which was the 4-H Exhibit. I thought Ravyn would be able to get up close to some cows, goats, and other livestock, but chickens and rabbits were all they had. Oh, and the turkey, which is notable only because she has two identical ones at her school.

After that, it was out to the rides. First stop was the bumper cars. She was just tall enough to ride by herself!

Next, was the mini big-rig,

motorcycles,

and carousel.

Once we were out of tickets to the rides, we went to see the circus. And no circus is complete without cotton candy!

Which does this to your face!

I don't think Ravyn has ever found anything that she didn't love to do. Papa Doug predicts she may have Nascar in her future! I predict you better not call your dinner a "turkey". Stuffed alligator, maybe. And the new screen saver is Ravyn trimmed in "cotton candy blue". Love it!!
