Saturday started with a trip to the local BBQ smokehouse for their annual crawfish boil. Jamie was the only one in the family who had ever tried the bugs, so it was new to the kids and I.
Here's our bucket o' bugs.

And Ravyn making friends with one before she ate him!

It was definitely a lot of work to get to the meat, but it was delicious.
With our bellies full, we made our way over to the Eglin Air Show to watch the Air Force Thunderbirds.

Ravyn and Rio, could have cared less about the maneuvers happening over their heads, but they loved sharing a special snack.

While they ate and played, Jamie and I oohed and awed at the sky.

When the show was over we played on all of the aircraft on display and Ravyn got up close and personal with a monster truck. Her t-ball team has one on the front of their shirts, so she was excited to see a "real" one.

And what kid doesn't like pretending to drive?

great shots. These great kids love every minute they spend around planes.Great shot of the Thunderbirds, too. Papa Doug never misses an air show either. I think Ravyn and Rio need flight suits!! You have photos now of Ravyn in a helicopter, a C141, a Thunderbird Jet-- she's getting pilot in her blood. And about that ATV-- somewhere there is a photo of Meredith and Andrea F driving one of those riding thru the orange groves at Farkle's and at Nana's. Your children are great!!
