Yesterday was Take a kid Fishing Day at our local pier. Every kid received a rod & reel just for showing up!! They even provided free bait and people walking around to help everyone have fun.
The kids LOVED it!
There weren’t too many fish to be caught with these huge jellyfish floating around!
But as soon as Jamie and Ravyn went to get a new sinker for her pole, I did manage to make a catch! Luckily, some people were kind enough to take a picture and help me remove the hook.
Turns out I caught a Remora, aka sharksucker. It’s the fish that attach themselves to whales, sharks, stingrays, etc. and hitch a ride.
Rio wasn’t so sure about the fish grabbing hold of him. : )
After some more fishing,
Jamie felt his line tugging.
He caught a Remora too!
Ravyn was a little disappointed that we had to throw all of the fish back in, since they weren’t the dinner type, but someone was kind enough to give her a yellowfin jack bait fish. Once she got her picture taken, she threw him back in to be with his family too!
