and beautiful RayRay.

Once we had everything set up it was on to the activities. First up was a nature hike.

Since Rio was the youngest he thought he'd show off a little and try to lead the hike.

Here's everyone at the end of the trail.

After that we had two more activities learning about bats and owls, but by then both kids were grumpy and hot which meant Mom and Dad were grumpy and hot.
Before dinner we had a little free time and the kids got to play zoo tag. These are the cutest things ever! Instead of tagging someone, you take their tail. I only wish this game was ours. Sadly, I've searched everywhere and it's no longer made. Bummer!

After dinner, Ravyn got to roast her first marshmallow and make her first smore ever! She liked it, but didn't like the stickiness.

By the end of the night, the kids (and grown-ups) were exhausted. As we walked back to the tent, we had no idea it was the real beginning of our adventure.
I mentioned it was super hot and humid that day, so of course when we got back to the tent we put on damp pajamas and laid down on damp sleeping bags. With it being so hot none of us slept well. Just when I was getting some good sleep Jamie woke me up to tell me it was raining with lightening.
Ten minutes later, we were packed up and on our way home at 4am!!!! Definitely not the end we were looking for, but when you live in the lightening strike capital of the United States you don't mess around. Oh well, at least we stopped at IHOP for breakfast.
