Since Rio's favorite television show is Yo Gabba Gabba, there was no question that it would have to be the theme of this year's party. I spent the morning cooking and decorating so everything was ready to go for the party.
Just after our guests arrived I took a moment to get a picture of the birthday boy.
Moments after we came back inside he did this.
I'm pretty sure he could have stayed there for hours, but we woke him up after a little over an hour to break the pinata before dark.
While it was a pull-string pinata, it's just no fun if you don't do it the old-fashioned way.
After Rio got in a few good whacks, Ravyn showed him how it's done. Check out her technique! No shy kids in this house. : )
After the pinata, it was back inside for cake.
Here's Rio eyeing down the target.
And coming in for destruction.
Here's a look at the cake I made to go with the colorful Yo Gabba Gabba theme.
And no party is complete without presents!
Happy Birthday, Rio!!

Absolutely beautiful!! What a wonderful birthday. Your whole family beams with smiles and happiness. You are correct-- there is not a shy gene anywhere in the four of you. Such a great birthday moment for the 2 year old powerhouse.
