And more goodies!
At 8:00 we put on our swim suits and got off of the ship to explore.
Here’s our official picture.
And a few I shot on our short walk to the beach.
Once we got the beach we laid claim to our lounge chairs. The sign I made reads, “Arrrr… spot! The Jimenez’s.”
We had a great view of the water and of Pelican Plunge, the small waterslide area.
Not only was the water beautiful, but it was also only about 3 feet deep, so it was perfect for the kids.
Not too long after we started swimming, we saw a group of people gathered a ways out looking down into the water. We went over to see what it was and it was a gigantic starfish! It had to have been 8-10 inches around and a bright orange/coral color!
Next, I took Ravyn over to Pelican Plunge.
Once we swam out to the area, Ravyn spent a long time with the water guns. They had all sorts of targets set up for the kids to aim at.
But alas, it was time to take the plunge. I went down ahead of Ravyn hoping to snap a picture, but this is all I came back with.
See that splash? That’s my little Ravyn after taking the plunge herself.
Needless to say, she wasn’t the biggest fan of it, so we kept our distance the rest of the day. : )
We stayed in the water for hours and the kids ate their fair share of ice cream cones from the self-serve ice cream bar in the snack area.
We took a ton of pictures, but here are a few of my favorites.
If you know Jamie well, then you can see him all over Rio’s face. He looks just like his Dad!
Or maybe he looks like me?
I don’t know, but by the end of the day we were all a bit loony! Shortly before we left, Ravyn came walking down to the water wearing all of the inner-tubes!
And Rio decided clothing was optional!
It was by far my favorite day of the cruise. We overheard another passenger saying to someone that the only reason people go on more than one Disney cruise is to return to Castaway Cay and I totally agree. Castaway Cay is its own little paradise!
We made it back to the ship just before the “All Aboard” call, but not before we stopped to hug Daisy Duck.
After a quick bath and change of clothes, Jamie and I were off to Palo for dinner. It was the first time either one of us had had a seven-course meal and we enjoyed every minute… and morsel!
It was only fitting that on our last day we stopped to look off the back of the ship at the waves left behind by our wonderful vacation! It truly was an unforgettable experience!
