Happy Birthday Ravyn!!!

Today my baby girl turned three!!! I have to say that this past year has been my absolute favorite. Ravyn has always had a strong personality, but to listen to everything she has to say, good and bad, I can't help but amazed. She has become a teenager in a toddler body, but I love every minute it. Like every other mother in the world, I think she is the smartest, most beautiful girl in the world. When I was pregnant I cross-stitched a birth record for her that reads, "A star is born." She has lived up to that statement and continues to shine not only in my life, but in the lives of everyone around her.
At school, they celebrate birthdays with more than just a cake and song. I have attached a little video of today, but here's a short explanation. The teacher lights a candle symbolizing the sun. Then, Ravyn carries a small globe around the sun (candle), once for each year she has been alive. After each rotation, the teacher stops her and asks her to tell a little something about that year. Parents are also asked to make a small collage with pictures from each year because, obviously, a 3 year-old can't really remember what they were like at 1. So, in the end, it didn't matter that I watching my star, but that she felt like a star herself. Happy Birthday Ravyn!!
