Being in a new place, I've been keeping my eye out for places that we have become accustomed to. The other night we tried Bonsai, a Japanese restaurant. Sure it had food with Japanese names, but there wasn't a Japanese person on staff and the food wasn't at all what I expected. Jamie keeps telling me not compare things because I will always be disappointed, but I am an optimist and will keep searching until I find it.
Bonsai wasn't bad, but it definitely put its own swing on things. I ordered the tempura bento. Typically, a bento comes with an entree, sashimi, soup, and rice. This is what I got!!!
It was nothing but tempura and could probably have fed 3 people!!
And take a look at the sushi placemat. Only in America would you market wine with sushi.
