My first stop was to paint the walls, but it was still a little too blah, so I decided to buy new light fixtures. After taking down the old 70's style bar vanity lights, we found this!
One, how do you attach a light fixture when a cheap builder didn't bother to install a box? And two, there is a pipe running through the middle of the hole!!!!! Thankfully, after a trip to Lowes with this photo in hand, and a conversation with a young man who knew what he was talking about, we were able to get an open back mounting box that wouldn't interfere with the pipe, but still let us mount a fixture.
This is the finished product.
Here is a view into the bathroom. The two doors on either side are walk-in closets.. One for each of us, which makes me a happy lady.
And here is the view out (sorry for the messy bedroom).
The two light fixtures over the sinks are the ones that had those terrible holes with plumbing and the one in the middle is my take on a chandelier since we had to keep it small to have clearance for the doors to open.
Lastly, does anyone see a problem with this picture? Look closely, there is NO bathroom door! Sure the toilet has its own room and door, but say I get up before Jamie and want to take a shower and blow dry my hair? Yep, that bed in the background will be the one he is rolling around in trying to ignore all of the noises.
Oh the things you don't think about when buying a house. : )
