Happy 1st Birthday, Rio!!

One year ago today, I held you in my arms for the very first time.
Today, so much about you is exactly the same. You still look just like your Daddy. You still wear that same serious look. And you still make me the happiest mom in the world.
As for changes, those are hard to miss. You fill the room with laughter wherever you are. You chase after your sister with so much love and admiration. And I think you're probably going to eat me out of house and home when you're a teenager!! It's hard to believe that you eat more than your sister and you're only 1!!
This weekend is the "official" birthday party, but we couldn't let your true birthday go by without celebrating.
We started things out by going to dinner with Grammie and Papa Doug who are visiting. After that, it was back to the house for presents and cupcakes!
Grammie and Papa Doug surprised Rio with a bag that was the same size as him!!

He wasn't quite sure what to do with it, so Big Sister helped out.

Inside was a brand new truck! Rio has been known to push everything around the house from paper plates to bottles. A truck big enough for him to push was exactly what he needed.

Once the presents were opened, it was on to cake.

Let's just say, he wasn't cautious about getting his hands dirty.

I think he ate every last piece he could get into his mouth and loved every second!!!
