Well, we're almost at three weeks now. Sushi deprivation has got everyone going crazy! Apparently, we can't get our act together so we all must be punished. As it stands, all charges were dropped against the marine accused of rape, but while on lockdown people have been arrested for illegal drug possession, drunk driving, and all sorts of other stupidity. One marine was dumb enough to get drunk on base and try to jump the fence to go off base.
Next Monday, the commanders meet again to see where we stand, but it's obvious they're trying to make a point. So, for us, it is yet another week of Burger King, Pizza Hut, Dunkin Donuts, and Popeye's.
**Keep in mind, there are 45,000 Americans living on Okinawa. While a small number of Okinawans want us gone, I think our time in lockdown is a lesson to all that we contribute a substantial amount to their economy.
