Once we found a spot to sit, the festivities started with the locals protecting the landing.
It didn't help though. Capt Billy's boat was about to land.
And finally, Capt Billy made landfall and had a talk with the mayor. I'd like to tell you how the reenactment went, but unfortunately our great seats for seeing the boat, weren't so great for hearing the announcer.
In the end, like every great festival, we were treated to fireworks over the water.
Monday, we are looking forward to seeing the torchlight parade. I've never seen a nighttime parade, so look for another post.
