On the morning of our first day at sea, we woke up to find lots of goodies in our Fish Extender, FE. The Fish extender is a long row of pockets that you hang outside your door, on a fish, in which you and people in your group exchange gifts. I signed us up to participate in the FE exchange. I had no idea what to expect, but it was so much fun. And, this was only the beginning of the amazing amount of creativity and thoughtfulness that we received!
With our new found excitement we went downstairs to the Playhouse Disney Dance Party where Ravyn and Rio danced and pranced their hearts out.
Then, it was back up to our room to put on our bathing suits, but first we had another surprise waiting.
After some swimming, we came in for even more activities. This time it was Mr. Toad’s Wild Race where the kids took turns hopping their frog across the finish line.
Neither of them won, but they each got a cute ribbon that said “Professional Hopper!”
From the Toad Race we went straight to the Mickey 200.
We had a carrot, potato, toothpicks, wheels, a knife, and 20 minutes to make ourselves a racecar.
After sixing up the competition,
the “Rookie Racers” took the stage.
It was pretty close, but no checkered flag for us.
Nothing a trip back to the room couldn’t fix because there were more gifts waiting for us!
While Grammie took the kids back to the pool, Jamie and I went to Martini tasting.
Neither one of us is really a Martini drinker, but it was a chance to find out what we had been missing out on.
The bartender taught is a little history about the Martini and gave us a tour of the Martini evolution from the traditional Dirty Martini to the Chocolatini.
Once we had a little knowledge under our belts, our bartender Cesar opened up the bar for a little mixology.
Jamie was one to be chosen to create a Martini for our group!
Sadly, I can’t remember what was in his Martini. I could say it slipped my mind, but the bartender loved our group and let more than one volunteer make their own creation. At the end of our session, this is what I had sitting in front of me!
From there it was on to meet Ravyn and Grammie at Tea with Alice.
It was an adorable show teaching the kids how to serve and pour tea properly, along with proper table manners. Of course, Ravyn loved that it was her job to pour for us.
At the end of the show, we all got to meet Alice and the Mad Hatter. I had made Ravyn an Alice dress and the characters loved it!
After lots of pictures, the Mad Hatter began dancing and twirling us around!! It was a great time!
Just writing about the day has been exhausting so you can only imagine how tired the kids were each night.
Tonight we had to swans waiting for us in the room along with an angel, who would watch over our room for the rest of the trip!
