Learning to swim

This week, Ravyn officially started learning how to swim. They don't offer swimming lessons on base, so she goes to Nirai Sports Club out in town.
Here is the view from the parents look-out room. No parents are allowed in the swimming area or locker room. Even when Ravyn is finished with her lesson, some of the female teachers help to change her and the other little girls back into their clothes. *If you're wondering what the Japanese says, it reads, "Nirai suimingu sukuru" aka Japanese "Engrish" for Nirai swimming school.

Safety first. Hand over hand along the pool edge.
Trying to get her used to getting her face wet. She HATES it. As you can see, she is trying to lift the hoop over her head so she doesn't have to go under.
Jumping. If you look closely, there are huge tables under the water to raise the bottom to the students. Her teacher, Taura is helping her, but the older kids jump from her platform to the one behind the teacher on their own.
And finally her favorite part of class. A kickboard is always fun, but a kickboard with a bunch of friends is even better. She's actually yelling to all of them, "Come on guys, let's go!" Too bad they don't understand.
