Ravyn's Nengajo

This is an official Japanese New Year's card or nengajo. Nengajo are sent by nearly all Japanese people to friends, family, and coworkers. What's amazing is that these cards are delivered on exactly January 1st, not a day earlier or later. Of course, we did not receive ours until after because while we live in Japan, our address is US, so it made a trip there and back.
This card is especially important because it is to Ravyn and it's the only one we got!!!: ) The first picture is of the address side. The characters on the left say Ravyn Jimenez, or Reibin Himenezu as it's said in Japanese. The next column has our address written in Japanese (PSC 80 Box 20124). The other picture is the reverse of the card. It says Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu or Happy New Year at the top and the hand written portion is from her swimming teacher Taura-san. Unfortuantely, I cannot read the rest so may be Hiroko and Kazumi can leave a comment with what it says in English, onegaishimasu. : ) Oh, and at the bottom it just says Nirai Swimming School where her classes are held.
What a memory!!

this is just wonderful. A great card and wonderful memory. Such a touch of class and culture and humanity. I think I would like to retire to Okinawa .
