Culture Day at EWMS

This week has been culture week at Ravyn's school, so all week parents have been coming into the class to talk about their child's culture. Today was Ravyn's turn. Since my side of the family has been in America since day 1, it was a little difficult to share with the class, so we focused on the Mexican side. I brought in a sombrero, pinata, and made quesadillas for everyone to try. Tortillas are not sold in the Japanese supermarkets, so it was definitely a first for all of the Japanese students, but I was more surprised that many of the American kids didn't know what it was!! They were a huge hit with the kids. Some students had 2nds, 3rds, and 4ths!! I had to laugh when her teacher, who is from Argentina and asked me if I could give her the recipe on how to make quesadillas!!
Friday is also cleaning day in the class, so the last picture is of Ravyn cleaning the binomial cube lesson. Just think, I remember doing this same lesson....25 years ago!
