Cambodian gift

The sister-in-law of one of my Japanese friends is a dentist who volunteers her time and expertise to medical aid camps in rural areas of Eastern Asia. Recently, she returned from a trip to Cambodia and was kind enough to share a souvenir with us.

I don't know the name, but essentially it was rice and azuki beans cooked with coconut milk in a bamboo husk. Jamie and I didn't want to break open the husk because it was so interesting, but how long could you keep cooked rice on display? Of course we ate it and it was pretty good.
