After our trip to Pizza in the Sky, we went to Nago Central Park to look at cherry blossoms. Nago Central Park is similar Central Park with tons of trails and playgrounds, but it actually began as the lush grounds for the King to enjoy around Nago Castle.
Last year, we went to Mt. Yaedake, a long, narrow drive up the side of the mountain, so I thought this would be an easier trip. Boy was I wrong. Apparently, cherry blossoms must be viewed while cursing all things under the sun, maneuvering two lanes of traffic on a road that should only accommodate one!! Thankfully, there were some small parking areas that we were able to pull into and enjoy the scenery.
It was definitely worth the trip! I did enjoy the flowers, but I think all of us enjoyed the playground the most. It had the prerequisite Japanese roller slide, but it also had the strangest, dangerous, fun, rope-ladder type spiral thing. Look closely at the picture and that is Jamie and Ravyn making their way through!!
By the end of the day we were all thoroughly exhausted, but glad to have been able to experience these once in a lifetime places.
