This next part I probably shouldn't admit, but here goes. One of the perks of having a husband who works at the aerial port is that since you know everyone, you may get special treatment if there are no other DVs (distinguished visitors) on the flight. So, instead of waiting with the masses in the typical airport lounge, we got to wait in the DV lounge with all of the luxuries and our own DV shuttle out to the plane when it was time to board.
True to the military, most space-A flights are on military aircraft, but once a week a contracted Northwest Airlines flight comes in to drop off/pick-up military families moving duty stations. Any extra seats are open to anyone desiring to travel and that is where we fit in. Ravyn has been on too many flights to count, but this was Rio's first time in an airplane!!
