Our Tokyo Trip- Tokyo Day 2

We didn't do too much today, but the things we did were fantastic. Most of the day we spent at the Tokyo Metropolitan Children's Hall. It was definitely not a tourist destination, but more of a playground/activity center for local children; and local children meaning Japanese, but also foreigners living in Japan. Whatever its mission was, Ravyn and Rio enjoyed themselves while Jamie and I sat back and watched.

After all that play everyone was hungry, so we headed to dinner at the Raj Mahal, a restaurant one of my tourist brochures recommended, but first had we had to stop and take a picture with Hachiko.
Hachiko is a famous Akita that now sits in bronze at the Shibuya train station. The story says that Hachiko's owner would take the train each day to his job at Tokyo University and Hachiko would greet him each night at the station when he arrived home. One day, his owner did not return and despite being taken into other loving homes, he would continue to escape and go to Shibuya station to wait for his owner each evening. It is said that he continued this for 11 years after his owner's death until his own in 1935. So, anyway, today it is one of the most famous meeting spots in Tokyo. Here's what it looked like in 2007 and today.
Now it was really time for dinner. Thankfully, the Raj Mahal had great food, great ambiance, and great staff.
We didn't get there very early, but we had the entire restaurant to ourselves and, as always, the staff thought Ravyn was delightful. We ordered our food and they kept bringing us "gifts" from the kitchen and little Ray got her own yogurt lassie. Just look at all of the food on our table!!
